The Sowell

The power of the intelligentsia is demonstrated not only by their ability to create a general climate of opinion that strikes fear into those who oppose their agenda but also by their ability to create a climate of opinion which richly rewards those political leaders whose decisions are consonant with the vision of the intelligentsia.
Thomas Sowell, Intellectuals and Society.

As so often happens with many brilliant scholars, Sowell was first a true marxist, in the sense that he had read Marx comprehensively and embraced his body of thought early on. What strikes me the most about his writings is how he grew out of that poverty ridden propaganda to shed light over the real world both as a brilliant statistician and a philosophical powerhouse force. Moreover, he is black and American, which makes him all the more irritating to the woke adolescentia.
Heber Martín, Personal Writings.
